Platform Member SkyNRG and Skellefteå Kraft join forces in Project SkyKraft for the production of e-SAF

Platform member, SkyNRG announced a new partnership with Skellefteå Kraft, renewable energy producer in Sweden, under the name Project SkyKraft. The innovative and large-scale project was initiated in 2022 and aims to investigate the opportunity to produce e-SAF which couples renewable electricity and biogenic CO2. This is an important development for the decarbonisation of the aviation sector, showcasing the importance of collaboration between sectors to accelerate the transition.

This partnership presents many advantages as Project SkyKraft is strategically positioned with continuous access to renewable energy supply, near the Skellefteå harbour and in a region with abundant source biogenic CO2. Project SkyKraft aims to produce 100,000 tonnes of eSAF with a planned commencement around 2030.
