ECOFYS: GRAIN – Global Restrictions on Biomass Availability for Import to the Netherlands | 2001

This report on Global Restrictions on Biomass Availability for Import to the Netherlands origins from 2001. it was commissioned by the Netherlands Agency for Energy and Environment and based on concerns by the Ministry of Economic Affairs about availability of biomass for energy purposes, given new policy focus for biomass for fuel purposes. The report presents a review of other studies to provide an overview about the availability of biomass for energy purposes, particularly, on the ‘upper’ limit of the amount of biomass that can be made available in a sustainable way for the energy supply in the Netherlands.
