Integrated Biorefineries Mission (IBM) and the Clean Hydrogen Mission (CHM): Integration of Hydrogen in Biorefining Process to produce SAF

Background

This webinar organised by Integrated Biorefineries Mission (IBM) and the Clean Hydrogen Mission (CHM) aims to present their findings of the joint working group’s first paper, alongside perspectives from the European Commission on SAF policy. The session will conclude with reflections on opportunities for further collaboration from the paper’s authors, representatives of the SAF Taskforce, and the Mission Directors of both IBM and CHM.

Programme

The programme will include:

• A brief presentation of the joint SAF task force by representatives of CHM and IBM;
• An overview of European support measures and policies for SAF technologies, presented by Maria Georgiadou of the European Commission;
• Insights from Working Group 1 of the SAF Task Force and its paper on integrating hydrogen into biorefineries, focusing on the key findings and principal conclusions, presented by the co-chairs, Marzouk Benali of Natural Resources Canada and Henar Olmedo of CIDAUT;
• An interactive discussion to identify shared priorities, potential areas of collaboration, and future actions.
